Troubled carrier Air India
is trying to get its international act together now that the crippling pilots strike is behind it.
Air India resumed its Riyadh flight on August 9 and plans to start other canceled international flights soon.
On August 16, the airline will resume the Mumbai-Newark non-stop flights, followed by Delhi-Hong Kong/Osaka on August 21; Delhi-Hong Kong/Seoul on August 22; Delhi-New York (non-stop) and Delhi-Chicago (non-stop) on September 5. The large Indian diaspora, who make up a huge chunk of Air India's international traffic, will heave a sigh of relief over the resumption of flights.
Air India has also announced increase in frequency of flights on the following routes:Delhi-Paris-Delhi
- From three flights per week to four flights, effective September 1, 2012.Mumbai-London-Mumbai
- From three flights per week to daily flights, effective September 15, 2012

Air India has rolled out a 20% discount promotion for travel from India to Hong Kong, for bookings made through its web site www.airindia.in
The promotion is available now, for travel from August 21 to September 15, 2012, for one way and return journeys, in all classes.
The 20% discount will not be valid for any changes in booking.
