Towering 355.35 metres above the ground, the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai has the unique distinction of being the tallest hotel in the world.

In soft opening mode since late last year, the JW Marriott Marquis luxury property will host its official opening on Wednesday, February 27, 2013.

The 72-story hotel has 684 rooms, 120 suites, 24 meeting rooms and 11 restaurants.

Marriott Marquis Dubai - World's Tallest Hotel

Emirates Property

Located 12.8 miles from the Dubai international airport, the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai is a twin-tower luxury hotel owned by Emirates Airline.

The first tower with 804 rooms opened in November 2012 and the second is slated to open in 2014.

Early reviews of the JW Marriott Marquis on TripAdvisor have been extremely positive.

Out of 87 reviews, 71 rated the hotel as either "Excellent" or "Very Good."

If your cabbie has difficulty in locating the hotel since it's still new, tell him it's one exit before the Dubai Mall.

In line with its luxury status, the JW Marriott Marquis is not cheap.

The cheapest room for March 1, 2013 runs at 1,080 AED ($294), inclusive of taxes but without food, breakfast or Internet access ($27).

Expect to fork out around $400 a night for the cheapest room with Internet, breakfast and dinner.

Indian Restaurant

Yes, the tallest hotel in the world has an Indian restaurant on level four to pamper lovers of our magnificent cuisine and to introduce its many delights to foreign palates.

Atul Kochhar, the famed Indian chef in the UK  of Benares fame, has opened Rang Mahal at the JW Marriott Marquis.

Rang Mahal is now open for dinner and has already attracted pleasing reviews despite the high prices.

To pander to its eclectic clientele, the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai also features a steakhouse, French, Thai, Japanese and a bunch of other restaurants.
