Nearly 2,600 flights have been cancelled in the U.S. as winter storm Janus barrels through the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
Philadelphia, LaGuardia, Newark Liberty, Reagan National (DC) and JFK airports are among the worst affected, according to flight tracking service FlightAware.
At LaGuardia (NYC) Airport, 226 flights were cancelled by 11:20AM Eastern time.
The picture was bleak for travelers at Philadelphia airport too with 210 cancellations.
Flight cancellations and delays will ripple through tomorrow too.
Airlines have already cancelled 556 flights in the U.S. tomorrow (January 22, 2014).
The storm is expected to deposit more than a foot of snow in Philadelphia, New York, Delaware, Virginia, Boston and Washington DC.
Most federal offices were closed in Washington DC.
Travelers should check with their airlines before heading out to the airport.
In Washington DC and New York City, several Megabus services were also canceled.
