Qatar Airways is making it convenient for its passengers to get short-stay Tourist Visas of up to a month via a new online system.
The new service can be accessed from the airline's web site at www.qatarairways.com.
Qatar is pitching itself as a tourist destination that is a mix of Western and Arabic influences.
Popular tourist attractions in Qatar include the Museum of Islamic Art, Souq Waqif and the Katara Cultural Village.
Doha also an active social scene with night clubs and bars.
The Tourist Visa must be used within 60 days of date of issue and cannot be extended.
Passengers must apply online for the visa, which takes about 10-days to process.
The fee is $55 per person.
For an additional $65, passengers can reduce the processing time by three days.
Visa application fees are non-refundable even if the visas are denied.
Visa applicants must have a confirmed ticket in and out of Doha on a Qatar Airways flight and a hotel booking through Discover Qatar, the airline’s inbound holiday division.
No Visas for Americans
Citizens from 33 countries including the U.S., Canada, Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan can get a one-month Tourist Visa upon arrival.
Tourist Visas for citizens from these countries can also be applied for online and issued instantly for a stay of upto one-month.
