Qatar Airways will start daily, non-stop flights from Philadelphia (PHL) to Doha on April 2, 2014.
From its Doha hub, Qatar Airways flies to 12 major Indian cities including Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Delhi, Amritsar, Ahmedabad, Kochi and Kolkata.
So the upcoming Philadelphia service should be a convenient option to Indian-Americans living in Philadelphia and Southern Jersey for their annual trips to the homeland.
In the U.S., Qatar Airways already offers daily non-stop flights from New York (JFK), Washington DC (IAD), Chicago (ORD) and Houston (IAH) to its Doha hub.

Qatar Airways also expanded its codeshare agreement with U.S. Airways for flights via Philadelphia International Airport.
The codeshare deal offers three benefits - convenience of a single combined ticket for Qatar Airways and US Airways operated connections; one-stop check-in and automatic baggage transfer; and frequent flyer members may earn miles or points while traveling on all flights of the other carrier and redeem award tickets as well.
For U.S. travelers flying internationally and want to reach Qatar Airways' destinations, connections to Philadelphia (PHL) through U.S. Airways are available from Los Angeles, CA (LAX), San Francisco, CA (SFO), Chicago, IL (ORD), Boston, MA (BOS), Miami, FL (MIA), Tampa, FL (TPA), Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL), Palm Beach, FL (PBI), Fort Myers, FL (RSW), Las Vegas, NV (LAS), Phoenix, AZ (PHX), Charlotte, NC (CLT) and Raleigh-Durham, NC (RDU).
