Northern Ireland often invokes thoughts and images of the IRA.  As many of us know, in some countries, religion and politics don't usually agree.  However, Joe Byrne, executive vice-president of Tourism Ireland is launching a peace process to benefit all of Ireland.  Many of the tourists who do visit Northern Ireland are American, but the goal is to further inform that Ireland has other states to travel to.  With no further ado, here are some of the cool places to visit in Northern Ireland.

The Titanic

How many of you know that the Titanic was made in Belfast Shipyards in Northern Ireland?  This year marks the centennial event of the sailing and sinking of the Titanic, and in the ships memory, Belfast--capital and largest city in Northern Ireland--will open a new visitor center in April.

The Giants Causways

As a result of an ancient volcanic erution, 40,000 interlocking basalt columns line the coast. This natural phenomenon is located in Antrim. It was voted into the World Heritage Site in 1986, and the Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland made it a National Nature Reserve, in 1987. 

A visitor and interpretive center will finally open after April.
