With some countries playing catch up to tourism, like Myanmar, other countries like Doha are preparing for the flux in tourism. In the last few years, just over 900,000 people traveled into Doha for business and leisure, and the country is expecting these numbers to rise over the next decade to 3.7 million tourists.
That is quite a leap, but is so far proving true with this year's numbers alone. After ten years of planning, and in its final state to completion and opening this year, Doha's new international airport will be more than adequate to handle that projected number of tourists.
If you are like a reptile who loves the heat, now is the time to book a cheap flight to Doha. Their tropical arid climate is at the hottest between June through September, reaching almost 107 degrees. However, if you like warm to hot temperatures, then travel at the end of April through May will see just over 100 degrees. Me, I get cold easy, but I don't like hot either. Travel in November and December or in January through March. Temperatures between 71 to 85 is more my liking.
One less thing to worry about when buying a cheap ticket to Doha is that Qatar is beginning to loosen some of its requirements for visas to be purchased before you fly. Now, Qatar has a list of countries that are allowed to buy a visa when landing at the airport in Doha. Be sure to find out if your country is on that list. It is one less stress to worry about when planning a trip, especially for business travelers.
